What Address Book fields are Imported from other email clients?

When importing contacts list or address book exported from other messaging platform clients, make sure the exported file is in Outlook 2003 .csv (comma separated values) format for the best result. Other .csv file types supported are:

  • Outlook 2000
  • Outlook 2003
  • Outlook Express 6
  • Thunderbird

However, for best reult and compatibility, Outlook 2003 formatted .csv file should be used. Most modern Email Messaging clients support exporting Address Book or Contacts list in this format. Please click here for instructions on exporting Address Book from Bloomland's legacy Email Services platform.

Regardless of which Email Messaging client you exported Address Book or Contacts list from, when importing these into Bloomland's New Email Services platform, ONLY the core set of Contact information fields will be imported. This is due to the differences between how each vendor's Email Messaging client stores these Contact Information fields and the way they are exported.

This core set of Contact Information fields are listed below:

  • Nick Name
  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Primary Email
  • Job Title
  • Company
  • Home Phone
  • Work Phone
  • Mobile Phone
  • Home Address (includes Street, City, Zip, State/Province, Country/Region)
  • Work Address (includes Street, City, Zip, State/Province, Country/Region)
  • Notes

If multiple entries of the same category of information are included in the Import File, ONLY the 1st occurance of such entries will be imported. For example, if there are two "Home Phone" type entries (1st and 2nd), ONLY the 1st entry will be imported!

It is advised that you try importing your Address Book from other Email Messaging client in several of the supported formats listed above to see which one gives you the best possible import results.
