It is impossible to over emphasize how important having a secure password can be. It’s not only your banking or credit card information that is at stake but also your whole business reputation. What would be the fallout from having your client lists with all their sensitive information stolen and used for fraud? It can literally paralyze a business. For these reasons it is important to follow these simple guidelines for implementing secure passwords:

Phishing - Have you been a victom of fraud?

Phishing is on the rise again and the tactics being used are getting extremely sophisticated. Phishing is a method of trying to acquire sensitive information like usernames, passwords and credit card details in order to commit fraud. This is usually done through email correspondence but there are some tried and true methods of avoiding being caught in the net. The latest attacks are what’s called “spear phishing” which means concerted, targeted attacks against specific accounts rather than a large, blanket attack against thousands of accounts.

'Remembered' passwords

Webmail login interface has a feature to remember user. Selecting the check box for this will install a token on your system to help identify you. If you don't select the check box, you will not have this token.
However, the web browser itself can remember the password, and autotype it in for you. A feature of all web browsers is the ability to save website passwords. You can delete the passwords saved by your browser, if you wish.

The major spam filter rules are built in to the Anti-Spam software, and these are the rules that clear up most of the spam on the internet. These rules are created by looking at the way spam emails are formatted, and blocking emails with a similar format. Unfortunately, some legitimate emails are identified as spam, and moved to your Junk folder. But that is the reason the Junk folder exists. Instead of deleting emails identified as spam, they are moved to the Junk folder for a few days so that the user can check for legitimate emails that were incorrectly identified.
